Theme:
Challenges and Opportunities for Community Trusteeship

Program Description: An intensive 10-month course for adults wishing to improve their personal leadership skills and understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges of the Long Beach community.  Through experiential learning and in-depth discussions, participants increase their knowledge of Long Beach and the surrounding cities.  The program explores contemporary issues with key individuals and stakeholders, gaining knowledge and data to be able to make informed decisions going forward in their professional, civic and personal careers.

Class members are tasked with working in teams to conceive and develop meaningful projects that benefit the city. LLB’s founders decided that program participants could best demonstrate their commitment to the community, while honing their personal skills through achievable community improvement projects . . . a decision that ties with LLB’s mission to “develop and connect principled leaders to strengthen the community.”
